ÚJD SR issued a decision authorizing the commissioning of MO4

In connection with the currently ongoing administrative proceedings for the issuance of a permit for early use of the construction and a permit for commissioning of Unit 4 of the Mochovce 34 NPP and related permits under the Atomic Act, the Nuclear Regulatory Authority of the Slovak Republic issued on 22 May 2026 Decision No. 229/2026, which authorizes the commissioning of the nuclear facility pursuant to Section 5(3)(b) of the Atomic Act and also the management of radioactive waste and spent nuclear fuel of Unit 4 of the Mochovce 34 NPP pursuant to Section 5(3)(f) of the Atomic Act.
The decision is currently being delivered via public notice to the parties to the proceedings, the authorities concerned and the public. Decision No. 229/2026 (unofficial English translation) (nové okno, PDF, 1.13 MB) in administrative proceedings No. UJD SR 125-2026 is published for 15 days on:

• on the Central Official Electronic Board (CUET) on the Central Portal of Public Administration
• on the official board of the ÚJD SR located at the entrance to the building of the ÚJD SR headquarters
• on the electronic official board of the ÚJD SR on the Office’s website
• on temporary official boards of selected municipalities

The decision will be deemed delivered and announced on the last day of this period. An appeal against this decision may be filed within 15 days from the date of delivery of this decision to the Nuclear Regulatory Authority of the Slovak Republic, Bajkalská 1467/27, 820 07 Bratislava – Ružinov city district. The correspondence address in postal service is the Office of Nuclear Regulation of the Slovak Republic, Okružná 5, 918 64 Trnava. The commissioning of Unit 4 of the MO34 nuclear power plant can only begin after the issued decision becomes legally binding.
