In accordance with § 6 paragraph 2 (e) of Act No. 87/2018 Coll. on Radiation Protection, as amended, the Public Health Authority of the SR carries out monitoring of the radiation situation, collects and processes data on the results of monitoring in the Slovak Republic for the purpose of assessing radiation exposure and assessing the impact of radiation on the health of the population. In cooperation with the Ministry of the Interior of the SR, the Ministry of Transport, Construction and Regional Development of the SR, the Ministry of Defence of the SR, the Ministry of the Environment of the SR, the Ministry of Education, Science, Research and Sport of the SR, the Ministry of Agriculture of the SR and the Ministry of the Economy of the SR, it shall establish a radiation monitoring network and shall ensure and manage the activities of the radiation monitoring network.
The Radiation Monitoring Network is a managed system of technically, professionally and personnel equipped professional workplaces, organizationally linked to monitor the radiological situation and data collection on the territory of the Slovak Republic, which is established by the Office of Public Health in cooperation with the above-mentioned central state administration bodies.
