16. Radiation safety

1. Staff exposure guidance and planning
The collective dose is one of the fundamental indicators to assess the level of nuclear safety and safety culture. This is the total dose of both external and internal exposure of the whole of the body measured with a personal dosimeter and a calculated internal exposure over a certain period of time. Measured doses to the utility personnel, the staff of supplier organisations and official working visits are included.
A summary of collective doses for the year 2000 (indicated values are linked to the double-unit):

2. Radiation accidents
