The safety of technologies for the processing and treatment of RAW is assessed within the safety documentation review (safety reports, quality assurance programs, OLC) by regulatory authorities and organizations from the SR upon the submission of such documents for construction or commissioning proceedings. Assessment Reports on nuclear and radiation safety of operations are submitted to ÚJD on a yearly basis.

ÚJD inspectors perform regular inspections of operation lines. Any faults and/or deficiencies identified are recorded in inspection protocols as tasks the fulfillment of which ÚJD requests within a specified period of time.

No international safety review of the above mentioned technologies has so far been performed.
